Gigi Modifications :: Collar

Hi, Knitters,

Today I am going to talk about the Gigi Cardigan collar modifications I made. There isn't much I changed so this one will be short. So off we go!

Collar

After the button band and buttonhole band are set you are ready to add the collar. The collar in the original pattern is stunning. I love it but I knew for me it would be better if it wasn't quite as tall. 

The only thing I did to change the collar was to cast on 9 stitches, for a total of 10 stitches to work for the collar (there is one stitch already on the needle). The original collar is 15 stitches. The entire collar is worked in 1x1 rib which makes it sit so nicely. 

I centered the buttonhole in the 10 stitches and made sure it lined up with the buttonholes on the band.

I think the collar detail on the Gigi Cardigan is so lovely and elegant. It kind of makes the entire thing.
